Sumitomo Heavy Industries, Ltd. (Head office: Shinagawa-ku, Tokyo; Representative Director, President and CEO: Toshiro Watanabe) held a “CSR Procurement Briefing” for its business partners on June 12, 2026, at its Ehime Works, Niihama Plant, in conjunction with the revision of its CSR Procurement Guidelines.

This briefing was held with the aim of deepening understanding of the CSR Procurement Guidelines and the Group’s initiatives related to human rights, labor, and the environment within the supply chain. The event was conducted in a hybrid format combining an on-site venue and online distribution and was attended by a large number of business partners.
At the briefing, the Company provided an overview of the revisions to the CSR Procurement Guidelines and outlined its future initiatives. In addition, Kawasaki Heavy Industries, Ltd., delivered a guest presentation, introducing its supply chain management initiatives and practical case examples.
In January 2026, Sumitomo Heavy Industries, Ltd. (SHI) delivered a presentation at a supplier seminar hosted by Kawasaki Heavy Industries, Ltd.
Through this and related initiatives, both companies have been working collaboratively to promote a better understanding among suppliers in the areas of human rights, labor practices, and environmental responsibility. This briefing further provided an opportunity to deepen collaboration and advance efforts toward sustainability in the supply chain.
The Group will continue to work in collaboration with its business partners and other companies to promote responsible procurement and to build a sustainable supply chain.
