SHI participated as a speaker at the "Carbon Neutrality Workshop" organized by Kawasaki Heavy Industries, Ltd.

Sumitomo Heavy Industries, Ltd. (Head office: Shinagawa-ku, Tokyo; Representative Director, President and CEO: Toshiro Watanabe; hereinafter referred to as “SHI”) lent its cooperation at the "Carbon Neutrality Workshop" for suppliers of Kawasaki Heavy Industries, Ltd., which was held on Wednesday, January 28, 2026. There, employees of SHI's Purchasing Dept. and Sustainability Dept.delivered presentations.
The workshop was held for the purpose of promoting carbon neutrality across the entire supply chain, including suppliers.
On the day of the workshop, SHI touched upon its recognition of the issues faced by the Group as it aims to realize carbon neutrality, the future direction of associated initiatives, and matters for which it was requesting supplier cooperation. Additionally, SHI provided an explanation of the Group’s sustainability-related initiatives, including its "environmentally- and socially-conscious initiatives" and "responsible procurement activities across its entire supply chain."
Acting in accordance with the Group's Human Rights Policy and Environmental Policy, as it further deepens inter-company cooperation, the Group will proceed to speed up its initiatives aimed at realizing a sustainable society across the entirety of its supply chain. Going forward, SHI will continue its sustainability-related initiatives alongside Kawasaki Heavy Industries, Ltd. and keep on doing its part to resolve sustainability-based issues across industrial and corporate boundaries.
