Sumitomo Heavy Industries, Ltd. (Head Office: Shinagawa-ku, Tokyo; Representative Director, President and CEO: Shinji Shimomura) will launch a new, easy-to-mount, zero-backlash “DA Series gear head for servo motors” as part of its lineup of Fine CYCLO® high precision gearboxes from January 30, 2025.
This product is suitable for high-precision positioning and can be utilized in machine tools, semiconductor manufacturing devices, and other equipment.

■Product Features
1.Outstanding Compactness
The overall length and outer diameter dimensions are significantly reduced by directly connecting the servo motor shaft to a single-stage reduction mechanism.

2.Easy to Assemble
Zero backlash gearhead with a motor adapter and a sealed structure (filled with lubricating grease) make assembly easy and no requirement for grease preparation. Lost motion is 1 arc-minute.

3.High Torque and High Allowable Moment
Maximum allowable peak torque increased by 60% (compared to the conventional model).
Maximum allowable moment increased by 41% (compared to the conventional model).

4.Excellent Cost Performance
The single-stage reduction mechanism achieves a simple structure with fewer parts, resulting in excellent cost performance.
