Sumitomo Heavy Industries, Ltd. (President and CEO: Shinji Shimomura) will launch "smartris", a drive solution for AGVs (Automatic Guided Vehicles) and AMRs (Autonomous Mobile Robots) that consists of three key components: gear, servo motor and driver.

smartris will be released on February 1.

smartris is a new product developed from the fusion of the reduction gear expertise we have cultivated and the servo control technology achieved by Lafert S.p.A. (hereinafter referred to as "Lafert"), which joined the Sumitomo Heavy Industries Group in 2018.

Lafert, an Italian manufacturer of industrial motors, offers a wide range of products, including high-efficiency magnet motors, induction motors, and servo motor drivers, to meet customer needs in the fields of automation and energy.

smartris is the first product developed in a joint effort between Sumitomo Drive Technologies and Lafert.

This safe and compact drive solution is a gear, servo motor and driver in one package that is accurate for AGVs and AMRs developments, enabling various types of AGVs to travel and be portable.

　Servo control provides high efficiency and high performance.
　Operation at a max speed of 2.0 m/s and a max acceleration of 1.0 m/s2 is possible.

●High safety
　The Cyclo principle provides highest shock load capacity.
　Safety function STO (Safe Torque Off) is also available as an option.
