Our Company began its operations as the machine shop for Besshi Copper Mine, Ltd. on November 20, 1888, and was incorporated as Sumitomo Machinery Co., Ltd. on November 1, 1934. On June 30, 1969, it merged with Uraga Heavy Industries, Ltd. to form Sumitomo Heavy Industries, Ltd.

Shares of our Company were listed on the First Section of the Tokyo Stock Exchange and the First Section of the Osaka Stock Exchange in May 1949.
With the integration of those stock exchanges, our shares are now listed on the First Section of the Tokyo Stock Exchange.
