SHI commercials begin screening at PLANETARIA TOKYO and Planetarium "MANTEN"

Sumitomo Heavy Industries, Ltd. (Head Office: Shinagawa-ku, Tokyo; Representative Director, President and CEO: Shinji Shimomura; hereinafter "SHI") is pleased to announce that SHI commercials will be screened at PLANETARIA TOKYO (located in Yurakucho, Tokyo) and Planetarium "MANTEN" (located in Ikebukuro, Tokyo), both of which are operated by Konica Minolta Planetarium Co., Ltd. (Head Office: Toshima-ku, Tokyo; President: Yumiko Moto)
The SHI commercials will be shown prior to the screening of the planetarium works. We hope you will enjoy them as companion pieces to the mind-soothing planetarium works that follow.

Outline of SHI Commercial Screening
Information on the screening period, content and reason for placement for the SHI commercials follows below.
Commercial screening period ・PLANETARIA TOKYO (located in Yurakucho, Tokyo): Saturday, July 12 - Friday, September 26, 2025
・Planetarium "Manten" (located in Ikebukuro, Tokyo): Friday, July 18 - Thursday, September 25, 2025

The videos feature the following content, which constitutes SHI's main space-related businesses.
・Developed an asteroid sampling mechanism for the "Hayabusa" and "Hayabusa2" missions.
・Provided ultracold freezing technology for space observation using the "ALMA Telescope."
Reason for commercial placement To cultivate familiarity with the fact that SHI is involved in space-related businesses, with the use of highly relatable media, SHI has been screening its commercials for a limited time every year since 2023.
SHI had only screened commercials at Planetarium "MANTEN" (located in Ikebukuro, Tokyo) in 2023 and 2024. In 2025, however, it will screen them at PLANETARIA TOKYO (located in Yurakucho, Tokyo) as well.

■Opening days: Open 7 days a week (Closed while replacing works)
■Opening hours: Daily from 10:30 AM to 9:30 PM

Planetarium "MANTEN" (located in Ikebukuro, Tokyo)

■Location: Sunshine City World Import Mart Bldg. Rooftop, 3-1-3 Higashi-ikebukuro, Toshima-ku, Tokyo
■Opening days: Open 7 days a week (Closed while replacing works)
■Opening hours: Weekdays from 10:00 AM to 9:00 PM / Saturdays, Sundays & national holidays from 10:00 AM to 10:00 PM
