June 17, 2026

Sumitomo Heavy Industries, Ltd. (Head office: Shinagawa-ku, Tokyo; Representative Director, President and CEO: Toshiro Watanabe, hereinafter referred to as “SHI”) announces that SHI has signed a cooperation agreement with National Research and Innovation Agency (BRIN) on SUPPLY OF FUEL ANALYSIS MODULE on May 18th, 2026.

BRIN and SHI have earlier concluded agreement on joint research concerning the utilization of underutilized biomass resources - such as palm residues, which are abundantly available in Indonesia - as boiler fuel. The supply of the FUEL ANALYSIS MODULE has been agreed upon to explore and expand the possibility of the utilization of such underutilized biomass resources.

Through SHI’s FUEL ANALYSIS MODULE, SHI aims to further strengthen partnership between BRIN and SHI and contribute to and enhance adoption of renewable energy in Indonesia by enabling the effective use of underutilized biomass resources.
