Sumitomo Heavy Industries Group Awarded Bronze EcoVadis Medal for Sustainability Performance

Sumitomo Heavy Industries, Ltd. (Head Office: Shinagawa-ku, Tokyo; Representative Director, President, and CEO: Toshiro Watanabe) and its consolidated group companies (hereinafter collectively referred to as “the Group”) have been awarded the Bronze Medal in the 2026 Sustainability Assessment conducted by EcoVadis, a leading global provider of business sustainability ratings headquartered in France. The assessment was conducted on a consolidated group basis.

EcoVadis evaluates the sustainability performance of more than 150,000 companies across 185 countries, based on four themes: Environment, Labor & Human Rights, Ethics, and Sustainable Procurement.

The Bronze Medal is awarded to companies ranking in the top 35% of all assessed companies. In this assessment, the Group achieved a score corresponding to the top 23%.

Guided by its Purpose — “Enhance society and those within it with compassion through our ownership and vision” — the Group promotes sustainability management from a multi-stakeholder perspective, aiming to address social challenges through its business activities while enhancing sustainable corporate value.

Going forward, the Group will continue to strengthen its ESG initiatives, including reducing environmental impacts across the entire value chain, respecting human rights, and reinforcing corporate ethics, based on stakeholder expectations and broader societal demands, thereby fulfilling its responsibilities as a member of the global community.
