Sumitomo Heavy Industries Obtains " SBT " international certification for greenhouse gas emission reduction targets

Sumitomo Heavy Industries, Ltd. (Head office: Shinagawa-ku, Tokyo; Representative Director, President and CEO: Toshiro Watanabe hereinafter “the Company”) announces that the Company Group 's near-term greenhouse gas emissions reduction targets for 2030 were officially certified by the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi), an international climate change initiative on February 16th, 2026.

■ Certified greenhouse gas reduction targets
The reduction targets of the Company Group as certified by SBTi are as follows:
・Scope 1 and 2: Reduce CO2 emissions from product manufacturing: 50% reduction by 2030 (compared to fiscal 2019)
・Scope 3 (Category 11) : Reduce CO2 emissions from product use: 30% reduction by 2030 (compared to fiscal 2019)
These targets are in line with the SBTi's criteria, which aim to limit the rise in global average temperature to 1.5°C.
