New sales launch of environmentally－friendly “Ultra Premium- “Efficiency （IE5）” gearmotors

Sumitomo Heavy Industries, Ltd. (Head Office: Shinagawa-ku, Tokyo; President: Shinji Shimomura) will launch sales of the environmentally-friendly “Ultra Premium-Efficiency (IE5)” gearmotors (permanent magnet synchronous motor) on September 1, 2025.
This product achieves higher energy efficiency than conventional gearmotors, helping to reduce CO2 emissions. Sumitomo Heavy Industries will continue working to strengthen measures that help to realize a sustainable society.
■ Features
IE5 (Ultra Premium-Efficiency) is the most efficient category among the five efficiency categories (IE1 to IE5) established under the international standard for motors (IEC60034-30-2).
By using Ultra Premium-Efficiency (IE5) gearmotors—including PREST NEO Gearmotor, HYPONIC Gearmotor hollow shaft RNYM type, CYCLO Drive, and Bevel BUDDYBOX 4 Series —it is possible to further reduce power consumption and CO2 emissions.
