Business Suspension Order Issued to an SHI Group Company Based on the Construction Business Act

An SHI Group company, Sumitomo Heavy Industries Material Handling Systems Co., Ltd. (Head Office: Shinagawa-ku, Tokyo; Representative Director, President, and CEO: Shinya Saitoh; a fully owned subsidiary of Sumitomo Heavy Industries, Ltd.; hereinafter “SHI-MH”), received a cease and desist order and a surcharge payment order on March 24, 2025, on the grounds of violation of Article 3 of the Antimonopoly Act (unreasonable restraint of trade).
Accordingly, on August 26, 2025, SHI-MH was ordered by the Kanto Regional Development Bureau, Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism (MLIT) to suspend business as follows, based on the regulations of Article 28, Paragraph 3 of the Construction Business Act.

The SHI Group is taking this disposition very seriously and is committed to restoring trust by ensuring legal compliance and taking thorough preventive measures.

    Business activities related to private-sector construction work within the machinery and equipment installation business conducted nationwide by SHI-MH.

    30 days from September 10, 2025, to October 9, 2025

    There is no change to the earnings forecast as a result of this order.
