Notice of Amendment to the “Human Rights Policy for the Sumitomo Heavy Industries Group”

Sumitomo Heavy Industries Group has revised its “Human Rights Policy for the Sumitomo Heavy Industries Group” which was established in February 2023, effective July 2025.
We are strengthening our efforts to respect human rights as a unified corporate group in accordance with the United Nations’ "Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights" and the Japanese Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry's "Guidelines on Respect for Human Rights in Responsible Supply Chains".
In this amendment, we have revised our Human Rights Policy to demonstrate our responsibilities as a signatory to the United Nations Global Compact (UNGC) more clearly and to express a strong commitment.
And by clearly stating our implementation of the Ten Principles of the UN Global Compact related to “human rights”, “labor”, “environment” and “anti-corruption”, we have further clarified our commitment to sustainable corporate activities based on international frameworks.
Under our amended Human Rights Policy, we will give our fullest attention to the human rights of all stakeholders involved in our business activities and fulfill our corporate responsibility to respect human rights.
