SHI Group Receives a Bronze Rating from EcoVadis, an International Sustainability Rating Provider

Sumitomo Heavy Industries, Ltd. (Head Office: Shinagawa-ku, Tokyo; Representative Director, President, and CEO: Shinji Shimomura) received a “Bronze Rating” on a consolidated group basis in 2025 Sustainability Assessments conducted by EcoVadis (Headquarters: France), an international ratings provider. EcoVadis assesses the sustainability of more than 150,000 companies in 185 countries worldwide in four areas: Environment, Labor & Human Rights, Ethics, and Sustainable Procurement. EcoVadis awards a Bronze Rating to companies falling within the top 35% of all the companies it assesses. The SHI Group earned this rating with a score in the top 28%.

We are promoting sustainability management from a multi-stakeholder perspective focused on enhancing both social and corporate value to ensure our adherence to this statement.

We will continue to strengthen the ESG initiatives our stakeholders expect of us. Such initiatives include reducing environmental burden throughout the entire value chain, respecting for human rights, and giving our full attention to corporate ethics. And in doing so, we will fulfill our role as a member of the global society.
