Service Technical Center for Gear Reducers to Be Opened in Nagoya

Sumitomo Heavy Industries, Ltd. (President and CEO: Shunsuke Betsukawa; hereinafter referred to as “SHI”) and Sumitomo Heavy Industries Power Transmission & Controls Sales Co., Ltd. (President: Norio Okada; a company wholly owned by SHI; hereinafter referred to as "SJS") have established the "Service Technical Center" as a center for the support and development of gear reducer service technologies and skills. They held an opening ceremony on March 28, ahead of the opening on April 1.
As Japan's top manufacturer of gear reducers, the SHI group provides high-quality products in a variety of sizes, for both special use and precision control, to a wide range of business types and industries. Leveraging a service network that covers the entirety of Japan, it has developed a service business that offers inspections, repairs, and more.
On this occasion, by opening the Service Technical Center in a location adjacent to the Nagoya Works (Obu-shi, Aichi, Japan) , which is the mother factory of SHI's Power Transmission & Controls business, SHI will cooperate closely with the factory's various departments to promote technical development and the transfer of skills, as well as to accelerate service quality improvements and service structure expansions.
In addition, the Service Technical Center will perform the role of supporting the provision of high-quality services for not only the Japanese market, but also the overseas market, which is expected to grow in the future.
The SHI Group will contribute to the creation of value for customers around the globe by continuing to provide high-quality products and services that customers can use with safety and peace of mind.
