Sumitomo Heavy Industries, Ltd. held its fifth Proton Therapy System users' meeting on Saturday, September 26.
In order to prevent the spread of COVID-19 infection, this year we held the meeting online for the first time. More doctors, medical physicists, and radiotherapy technologists from Japan and abroad gathered online than last year to talk about the status of clinical and research work at their facilities, and we presented our own technical reports. We were able to make the event a place for users to share information, not only between users and us, but also between users and other users, as we were more conscious of two-way communication than in previous years.
We will continue to provide more patient-friendly and user-friendly proton therapy systems based on the feedback from our customers. In addition, we will continue to create a place where users can share information with each other and contribute to the improvement of the quality of medical care and the further development of the medical industry.
