My name is Anna Orlova. I'm working at the Marketing Group of the Sales Department in the Plastic Machinery Division. I was assigned to the Marketing Group in 2022, where I handle digital marketing.
I have visited the Sumitomo Pavilion recently and would like to share my impressions about the Sumitomo Pavilion themed "UNKNOWN FOREST, Stories Waiting to be Discovered".
After entering from the East Gate and walking a short distance, you will see the Sumitomo Pavilion. The pavilion's design draws inspiration from the Besshi Copper Mine in Shikoku, the birthplace of the Sumitomo Group. Its silhouette beautifully mimics a range of mountains, creating a striking and natural look.
The Sumitomo Pavilion utilizes around 1,000 trees from Sumitomo's forest, including cedars planted during the 1970 Expo and aged cypresses. The exterior is beautifully harmonized with nature, creating a truly impressive sight.
When you enter the Sumitomo Pavilion, you receive a lantern. This lantern will guide you through the 'UNKNOWN FOREST', the heart of the pavilion, creating a magical atmosphere that makes you feel like an exciting adventure is about to begin.
As you take your first step into the 'UNKNOWN FOREST', shrouded in mystical mist, the lantern begins to guide you to the hidden spots. The route is not fixed, you can freely explore the forest. Sunlight filtering through the trees, wind, sounds are making you feel as if you've wandered into another world.
When you exit the 'UNKNOWN FOREST', you will be directed to the Performing Theater. Here, you can watch a grand show where people, visuals, sounds, light, wind, and mist all come together. The performance, which combines digital technology and dancer' show, captures your full attention and leaves a deep impression. It was a time that made me deeply reflect on the coexistence of nature, humans, and animals.
As you proceed further inside the Pavilion, you will find the exhibition corner named 'Seeds for The Future'. This corner showcases seed ideas for future technological innovations and societal advancements, created using generative AI based on Sumitomo Group's cutting-edge technologies and initiatives.
There are around 700 panels on display. One of them showcases the product and idea of our Division. If you visit EXPO 2025, be sure to stop by the Sumitomo Pavilion and look for our panel.
The experience at the Sumitomo Pavilion highlighted the significance of nature and filled me with hopeful aspirations for a better future. We warmly invite you to visit the Pavilion and immerse yourself in a future where humans and nature coexist, through visual, auditory, and sensory experiences.
