History of Shipbuilding Business
Uraga, where our first shipyard was founded in, and Oppama, where current shipyard is located, are in Yokosuka City in front of Tokyo Bay.
We continue to provide Sumitomo's original solutions to our customer all over the world from the metropolitan area in Japan.

Our original company, "Uraga Senkyo Corporation" is established.
Dawn
1924
Delivered "Shoho Maru", the first railway and passenger ferry in Japan, which became a prototype of railway, car and passenger ferries built in later.
Evolution
1984
Launch of training sailing vessel Nippon Maru. She is a first large-scale sailing vessel fully designed and built in Japan.

Aframax Tanker "M/V Alfa Finlandia" delivered
The vessel is equipped with SCR (Selective Catalytic Reduction) NOx Removal System that complies with IMO NOx regulations Tier 3. We continue to build the Aframax Tanker which is complied with exhaust gas regulations and for optimizing fuel consumption.
