High Response Servo Technology in Injection Molding Machine

Recently, the downsizing, weight saving and thinning of products represented by IT equipment and digital home appliances are advancing, and demand is also intensifying for smaller, lighter, thinner and more complex injection-molded articles, which are essential for assembling those products. Injection molding machines themselves are also required to address these trends. Our company has responded to such demand by developing and marketing electrically powered injection molding machines that achieve high controllability and excel in terms of stability and reproducibility. However, even those electrically powered injection molding machines have not fully met the recent demand for super precision and stability. For that reason, we are working on development that meets the demand by applying highresponse servo technology, which attaches considerable importance to motion control. This report explains the effectiveness of adding the high response servo technology to an injection molding machine, taking an example of actual injection molding where the technology is applied to an injection system.
