Recently, shipping business becomes active and domestic ship manufacturers have many new ship contracts because of activity of Chinese market. Ship manufacturers are making large investments to improve their dockyards and replace old facilities. Sumitomo Heavy Industries Engineering & Services Co.,Ltd. supplies new types of jib cranes, which assume the largest market share, and new goliath cranes of 800-ton capacity to meet the customer needs of crane replacement projects. This report presents the construction and delivery of three goliath cranes in six months, and also the relocation work of an existing goliath crane. For the serial construction and relocation work, preliminary studies were performed involving contractors on potential problems in all phases from the design to delivery. The projects were successfully completed by the collaboration of all the relevant organizations.
