Stable Operation of Ash Melting Furnace in MSW Incineration Plant
Relatively high amount of toxic substances such as heavy metals and dioxins are contained in the residue from Municipal Solid Waste (MSW) incineration, especially in fly ash. It is a solution of this matter to melt the ash into molten slag, which is enough non-toxic to be used as sand substitution for road construction. We have developed the pretreatment system for bottom ash and the receive/store/feeding system for fly ash, which make the operation of ash melting furnace more stable. And then we have achieved to continue the stable operation for more than two and half years. This report presents the overview of the system and the data of the successful long term operations.
