For aiming at the construction of the recycling society, the waste processing has changed to the reproduction of resources through the conversion of wastes into safe materials or the collection of metallic resource from the wastes. In 1990, we introduced the technology of the rotary kiln for waste processing from ABB Enertec AG, which incinerates industrial waste and extracts the residue as molten slag. The rotary kilns have been delivered for industrial and municipal waste processing facilities together with our recycling facilities installed in order to meet the specific needs of our customers. We have been working to find optimum design and operating conditions for new applications, fully utilizing our research capabilities and expertise in this field. This paper reports some of the applications in waste processing facilities and our approach to the future.
