Operation Results of Biomass Fired CFB Boiler Power Station
The effective utilization of biomass energy has been required as a means of reducing global CO2. With this background of social needs, we designed and built the nation's first and largest wood biomass-fired Circulating Fluidized Bed (CFB) boiler power plant for Summit Myojo Power Itoigawa Power Station. The power plant was successfully commissioned in October 2004 with a capacity of 50 MW. The biomass-fired CFB boiler demonstrated the performance as designed, and its stability was proved through successive commercial operations. This paper discusses the boiler design, and the performance of the boiler and power plant.
