The image storage medium, DVD-VIDEO, characterized by high picture quality and multiple language selection has become widely used, favored also by the price-reduction of DVD players. Our company had started manufacturing and marketing injection molding machines for optical disc substrates before DVD was introduced into the market. It has allowed us to earn a high marketing share of injection molding machines for DVD-VIDEO substrates.
The features of our DVD-VIDEO injection molding machine SD35E are introduced here. Due to the fact that injection molding of DVD-VIDEO substrates is much more complex than that of CO-ROM, SD35E has the following features to realize the high specification demands of DVD-VIDEO:
(1) Direct-drive mechanism that connects a servomotor directly with a ball screw provides an excellent performance in reproducibility, position control and response.
(2) Five-point double toggle mechanism adopted for the mold clamp device enables rapid mold opening and closing, and quick response for mold clamping force control.
(3) The injection device has sufficient response time to meet the injection time of 0.1 seconds required for DVD substrate molding.
