As the Company that delivers life-cycle solutions for cranes of every size, Sumitomo draws on a wealth of experience to create New Mascot, the leading edge in overhead cranes.
Four operating patterns for incredible ease of operation
A key feature of inverter control is that it operates at only certain acceleration/deceleration times. Sumitomo has improved on this characteristic, providing handling close to the "secondary rheostatic control plus hydraulic foot brake" of conventional systems. By operating through a footswitch, this system enables inertial cruising, suppressing load shake during deceleration and stopping and making positioning easier. Notchless operation enables operators to operate at any desired velocity using only a controller. To stop, the operator simply decelerates in small increments, affording superior control over operation.
Compact design enables operation under low ceilings. Maximizes working space by the minimal approach width.
Traveling and traversing gear adopt integrated electric motor, brakes and reduction device in a shaft-mounted design. The hoisting mechanism integrates the electric motor, brakes and reduction device for a compact footprint.
Smooth maintenance through inverter control and monitoring system in the operator cab
Maintenance of carbon brushes, contact points and brake-line systems is virtually eliminated, through the adoption of electric motors enclosed in cages, contactless control devices and electronic controls. Monitoring systems can also be implemented according to customer needs.
Monitors installed in the operator cab enable operators to confirm running time as well as any failures (option). Operations can optionally be controlled not only from the operator cab but also by a remote controller or a pendant.
