Sumitomo Heavy Industries, Ltd. (SHI) President and CEO, has opened new offices for its plastic injection molding machines in Dalian, China, and Detroit, U.S.A.
Dalian Office will be operated as one of the representative's offices of SHI Plastics Machinery (Shanghai) Co., Ltd. to dedicate itself to sales and after-the-sale services for injection molding machines in and around Dalian as well as in the Northeastern province of China. In recent years Dalian is experiencing a rapid growth in demand for IT and OA related products, such as mobile phones, digital cameras and laser printers. As such the circumstances, the local demands for plastic injection molding machines to produce these products, currently exported from Japan, are expected to still increase there significantly.

In order to provide its customers with still more careful and direct services that meet their needs and satisfaction, SHI has decided to open its Dalian Office. Additionally, in close cooperation with SHI Tianjin Office, which was inaugurated last year, our Dalian Office will shortly cope with the needs of the local automobile industry, which is expected to rapidly grow in the North and Northeastern provinces of China in the near future.

Detroit Office will be operated as one of the representative's offices of Sumitomo (SHI) Plastics Machinery (America), LLC, and focus on sales of injection molding machines in the US northeastern districts. The tone underlying the demand for these machines in the US automotive market is firm, and an increase in production and plant expansion by Japanese car manufacturers are expected there. SHI Detroit Office will strengthen the company's marketing and sales of injection molding machines to the US automobile market centering around the Great Lakes.
