When does the Group release its earnings announcements?
The Group releases its earnings announcement for the previous fiscal year ending in March at the beginning of the following May. The Group’s midterm earnings announcement for the current fiscal year is released in the beginning of November. Starting in FY 2003, the Group also began releasing a summary of quarterly performance. A schedule of upcoming announcements can be found on the IR Calendar page.

 When was the Group established?
The company was established on November 20, 1888 as an engineering and construction subsection of the Besshi Copper Mine and was formally established as Sumitomo Machinery Co., Ltd. on November 1, 1934. On June 30, 1969, the company merged with Uraga Heavy Industries Co., Ltd. to form the current Sumitomo Heavy Industries, Ltd.
